Tom at Vinten booth NAB

Once again I will be attending the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas this year. I will be working the Vinten booth like previous years April 11 to April 13th. I will also be working the Zacuto/Kessler Booth the morning of April 14th. Please swing by and chat tv/film with me if you plan on visiting the event floor.

If you do not follow me on Twitter, please do so @tomguilmette. I will be posting updates and twitvids live from NAB. Also, Tweeting is an easy way to find me if I am not at the Vinten booth. I plan on wondering around a bit.

I shot a quick video blog I shot today at opening day explaining what I will be talking about while in Vegas attending NAB. Check it out below.

I am really looking forward to the new products that Eric Kessler will be unleashing at the Zacuto booth! Kessler is taking motion control timelapsing to the next level. Amazing engineering and products for a very affordable price. You gotta see what he has done, please come by!

This is going to be the year of IPTV. I have a bunch of questions regarding how internet and television are soon going to be very much the same. Very exciting times. I will be shooting a few video blogs from the event and posting them to my website. Please keep an eye out for that. If you have any specific questions you want me to answer or if there is any gear you want me to report, please use the comment section below this blog post. I will do my best.

I am looking forward to hanging out with my website contributors, TJ Powers, Jeff Hamel and Bill Travers. Also, I cant wait to see my good friends at Vinten, Kessler Crane, Letus Direct, Rule, Fastec Imaging, Switronics, Zylight and Zacuto. Plus all my NAB friends, you know who you are and there are way too many to name here!

I have been testing a prototype Vinten Vector 75 panhead at Fenway Park shooting the Boston Red Sox. I will be giving the folks at Vinten some feedback on it. I am very happy with it so far and glad that the company has revisited the classic Vector 70 design. The 70 is the best pan head EVER made for large OB sports broadcast cameras. In fact, I tell people that the Vinten pan head is the secret to my success as a sports camera operator.

See you all at NAB! I will be giving out prizes to the first 500 people who find me! (and they are not my new business cards…)
